The Best Kpop Store in Korea

YES! I have found one of the best Music Store in Korea.
It literally has every Kpop CD that's ever came out. They even have an extensive collection of Kdramas, so if your a Kdrama fanatic, this is your wonderland.
So check out the video below to see all of the wonderfulness that was inside "Music Korea." While watching you can scream if you want to ;)
UPDATE: Where to find YG merchandise in Seoul

FAQ:

How much are the CD's?
There's no set price for Kpop CD's. Also as stated above it's in a tourist area as is most Kpop music stores so you must take that into account. When you get there just choose the one you want and if it's a price you're willing to pay then buy it. If you want a non hiked up price you must visit Hottracks inside of a Kyobo bookstore. Click the link above for more info.

Are they expensive?
How much are you willing to spend? But in my opinion no. Kpop CD's are a work of art so it worth it. Also if you're visiting Korea I'm pretty sure buying KPop CD's is number one on your list so....there you go!

Do they sell old school Kpop CD's (from a few years ago i.e. SNSD Gee, SS501, TVXQ.)
Pretty sure but it's not like I looked at absolutely everything in there so you'll have to cross your fingers when you go visit. Definitely the most extensive collection of TVXQ ever. Also major most groups/singers have their own section so you can browse their entire catalog.

Do they sell Kdramas?
Yes, a pretty large collection of popular dramas from the last 5 years or so. Please note that Kdrama box sets are quite expensive. Anywhere from $70 to $150 and up.

Do you get posters/free stuff with CD purchase?
Yes, if your CD comes with a poster you'll get it for free. If they CD has no poster or the posters are sold out they will give you a small post card sized photo or the star or let you choose your favorite artist. Also the posters aren't for individual sell.

Do they sell Jpop or Western Music?
They have a small collection of Jpop so I wouldn't suggest going there if you are looking to bulk up on Jpop. And they don't sell any Western CD.

Are there other Kpop stores around?
Yes Myeongdong Station has 2 but their the same exact price as Music Korea. (Because it's a tourist area.)

Music Korea is located on the 3rd Floor of the huge Nature Republic on the first corner of Myeongdong. Trust me you can't miss it. If you take the exit for the shopping area and start to walk down the street the Nature Republic will be on the left.

Directions: Myeongdong Station Exit 4 (Light Blue Line #4). Walk up the stairs and turn to your left and stand there. Look up and you'll see a Nature Republic store with a huge photo of Jang Keun Suk. That is where Music Korea is. Go inside up to the 3rd floor and Bam.

  1. Great post! I was asking around for a store like this to pick up Sherlock, Alive, and Ear Fun, but people kept telling me to download it. I was like I don't want to download it! lol I've only been to the music store inside the Kyobo bookstore, but Music Korea seems more what I am looking for.

    1. Happy I could help! Yea I've never been one for downloading. I always like to purchase the actual CD. I like to see it and hold it. Almost like I'm collecting something.:)
Also what version of Sherlock are you wanting to get? I like the Key one best even though I don't really like him. But his green hair and lip piercing is rocking lol

    1. Thanks for enjoying babe :)
And yes Ive actually ran into 2 music stores in Itaewon. One is right off of Exit 4 on the left hand site. Not sure of the name but if you just walk down youll see a CD store. I think its beside a makeup store. Maybe 1 min walk from Exit 4. Also Another CD store at exit 1, I believe. It has a BB poster outside so Its hard to miss.
      Hope this helps :)

    1. Hello!
Well the only place I have been able to find light sticks is in Myeongdong station. Other than the official concerts this is the only place ive seen light sticks sold at. Ive seen BB sticks but necer the actual official ones like the crown shaped one. You can try the YG store. Im sure they have glow sticks for sale plus many other things. So if you want to check around, go to Myeongdong station and walk around the inside of the subway and check out the shops :)
Hope this helps and good luck!

  5. Hi! Thanks so much for the insightful post, I'll be sure to head to these places when I go to Seoul :D Which one do you think is the cheapest btw? I basically have to stock up on everything SJ/Shinhwa/everything which will be extremely expensive as it is, lol.

And I'm not sure if you know them, but do you know if any of the stores have Shinhwa? I'm looking to buy everything Shinhwa-related that they've released over the past 14 years but I'm worried that stuff from the early 2000s might be hard to find :(

    Thanks! :D

    1. No problem thanks for reading!

When you say which one is the cheapest what do you mean?
All I really know of is this one in Myeongdong. There are others but not nearly as good stuff sold there. All the CD's are the same price across the board unless you buy a CD is a small town in Korea. When I buy CD's in the small town I live in they're 1-2,000w higher and they don't get them til a week later so I just end up going to Seoul to this store.

Well I really don't know anything about Shinhwa so I haven't paid attention to their stuff anywhere BUT I will say I'm pretty sure anything produced before 2004 is not being manufactured anymore. I say this because when I go to buy Rain's stuff its always 2004 and on. I've never been able to get his 1st album and its even hard to find "Escape the Sun" which came out in 2004.

I also say this because DBSK is the only Kpop artist that I've seen with a full collection sold that goes back into the early 2000's. Since they debuted in 2004, there til now is still produced and sold or enough has been made to supply demand.

So your best bet is Music Korea or Kyobo bookstore in Korea which sells CD's. You can get Shinhwa merchandise anywhere they sell Kpop stuff. Probably not a big variety (which for me its never a big variety of Rain stuff since he's been out for so long and the lil girls like the younger groups.)

Anywho I wish you luck in finding treasured Shinhwa CD's!

  6. Can I ask what was the average price of an album (is the price at Music Korea similar to all other CD shops?)? Are there any discounts as well?

I think I'm definitely going to pop by this shop (thanks for the comprehensive post on it :D)!

    1. Hello, theres no average price because kpop CD's come in a fast array of prices. Each album's price is dictated by their company with packaging, materials, time, shipping and handling being applied to the cost or they do the Economics of One Unit.
So each cd is different. Also they dont (or at least ive never seen any discounts) BUT they do always give a free small picture of the persons CD you buy!!!!
If its brand new youll get a free poster!! ;)
      Thanks for your question ;)

  10. Went to the shop but its damn expensive. The cheapest cd store that i've found is inside myeongdong station. There are two of them but the price is kind of the same yet still cheaper than the big stores. The price ranges from KRW9000~KRW15000. Well actually it depends on what cd u are buying.

    1. I stated in the post that it was expensive.
But when you think about its really not. How much do overseas fans pay for CD's online PLUS shipping? So when you take that into account its actually way better AND you're actually purchasing the CD in Korea, in the Kpop atmosphere etc, so I think it's worth the price.
